this is one of my favorite recording of this, and also one of my favorite recorded performances ever.  it's live at the Earl of Oldtown, in Chicago, 1974.  Michael Lewis, the piano player on this just 'wandered in' off the street to do a guest set, and i invited him to join us on stage.  i play guitar.  M. Matchkis or Jim Tullio is on bass.  i'm not sure.

this performance, heavily sedated with alcohol, was given at a Chicago club on Lincoln Av. called Sylvester's in 1976.  Syl was Earl Pionke's cousin, much nicer that Earl.  i don't think the bar lasted that long though.   maybe we helped shut it down.
