    i give a note for 'pure light' here since i can find no other existing information.  

        i believe this song  was composed in Chicago in 1976.  it is an expansion of a lyric         or poem that was given me by a fan in Rogers Park.  i believe the young woman's         name was Joy Cohen.  she made several live recordings of my shows at the No             Exit coffee house there.  sometime in the mid '90s she died very prematurely of               cancer.
